Abstract

Cassava peels are an abundant agro-industrial byproduct with limited utilization. This study explored their conversion into livestock feed pellets and biodegradable packaging films. Physicochemical properties such as fiber content, tensile strength, and biodegradability were tested, alongside cost-benefit analyses.
Feed pellets showed 15% higher crude fiber and acceptable digestibility. Packaging films had moderate tensile strength and biodegraded within 40 days. Economic assessment indicated profitability with small-scale mechanized processing. Value addition of cassava waste supports income generation and circular economy goals.
