Manuscripts Send
a) Before sending your manuscript, check that you meet all the requirements.
(b) Articles should be accompanied by a cover letter addressed to the Principal Editor, in which the authors submit the manuscript for publication; specifying that it is a previously unpublished work (original), not sent to another journal simultaneously, that the manuscript was prepared on the instructions of the Journal, that all authors agree, both with its content, and with ceding the rights of publication to the Latin American Journal of the Pope and that they have no conflicts of interest.
(c) The author(a) will register and upload the files to the journal's website. http://papaslatinas.org/index.php/rev-alap/about/submissions
d) The author(a) will send a message to the Editor Principal of the Latin American Journal of the Pope, to the e-mail editor@papaslatinas.org, indicating that he has uploaded his manuscript to the platform and that he has met all the requirements indicated above.
(e) The Editor shall confirm the receipt of the manuscripts received.
(f) Once the manuscript has been received, the Editor of the Latin American Journal of the Pope will make an initial evaluation to validate the integrity of the research and compliance with the editorial policy and assigns an identity number to the manuscript.
(g) The Editor shall inform the author about the acceptance of the evaluation, or on suggestions for inclusion in this process.
(h) If the manuscript meets these criteria, the document is assigned to a member of the editorial board (appointed adviser) to advance the peer review process.
(i) Once accepted, the peer review of experts will be sent, which shall recommend to the Publication Committee its publication or rejection, annexing the respective suggestions that may be methodological, content or style. These suggestions will be sent to the authors, so that they can make the suggested adjustments. In the event of disagreement, the authors will express their concepts to the editor, and the editor will send them to a second or third expert. Under the new concept, the Publications Committee will take a final decision which will be communicated to the authors in due course.
(j) The designated adviser shall carry out a preliminary verification of the content of the manuscript and, in his opinion, decides whether or not to recommend the manuscript for the expert peer review process (at least two) or for rejection. The reasons why the advisor initially assigned for the manuscript review may recommend to the magazine's editor the rejection of a manuscript are:
- 1. Objective errors were identified in methods, applications or interpretations in the manuscript that prevent further consideration
- 2. Ethical problems in the manuscript were identified that prevent its subsequent review or publication
- 3. The content of the manuscript does not meet the standards of scientific rigor required by the journal to be considered for publication
The Senior Editor can request a second initial review of the manuscript from another counselor, before making a final rejection decision.
(k) In the case of manuscripts that pass to the peer review process, the authors shall respond to the observations and recommendations made by peers and the editor. In the process, the authors must submit the following documents:
- 1. A cover letter of the revised manuscript, which includes a point-by-point response to all comments from reviewers and editors. The same document may include arguments from the authors, in the event that no observations made to the manuscript are accepted.
- 2. The version of the revised manuscript should contain the improvements highlighted by Change Control or otherwise to clearly highlight the parts of the text and corrected figures/tables.
- 3. The revised version of the manuscript in its full text without comments and comments.
It is important to note that the response to the revised review and manuscript can only be sent back to the same referees (and/or new reviewers) up to twice. If a third assessment is required, the manuscript will be rejected.
(l) The designated counsellor, after the completion of the review process, shall send a note to the Chief Editor suggesting that the manuscript with the respective identity number should be accepted or rejected as the case may be, in accordance with the criteria of the evaluating peers and the same counselor. Subsequently, the Chief Editor will send a letter to the correspondence author indicating the final decision of the journal on the article in question.
(m) If you accept the manuscript for publication, the authors will only maintain the rights of the author, since the rights of the publication will be the property of the Latin American Journal of the Pope, so they cannot be reproduced partially or totally without a written permission from the editor. The authors will cede to the Latin American Association of the Pope (ALAP), the exclusive rights to reproduce, distribute, translation and public communication of their work by any print, audiovisual or electronic means.
(n) The works published in the journal are the exclusive responsibility of the authors and do not represent the thoughts of the Editor, nor of the Latin American Journal of the Pope or the Latin American Association of the Pope (ALAP).
