Review articles

The subject review articles will only be accepted for publication upon request by the Editorial Committee. However, the authors may propose topics, indicating the purpose of such revisions and the reference sources and search methods to be used. The Editorial Committee will evaluate any such proposal and determine whether it should be developed and/or included in the journal.

The review articles are detailed, selective and critical studies that examine the published literature and place it in some perspective. A review article is a document resulting from research, analysis, systematization and integration of the results of published and unpublished research in a scientific or technological field to take into account progress and trends in R & D. They must meet the following characteristics.

Reviews should be between 12 and 20 pages long. Content: they should have a summary that emphasizes the importance of recent findings; an introduction; a section for Critical Analysis (presented under subtitles or in sections); Conclusions; and a Bibliography, which includes at least 50 references, most of which are recent (i.e. published in the last five years in the case of well-known topics). Scholarships, figures and tables should also be included, dynamizing the text and facilitating understanding. A review should integrate the compiled information and provide a detailed explanation of the limitations and any inconsistencies found in the results of the published studies.

The Latin American Journal of the Pope is a peer-reviewed publication. The articles received are sent (without the names of the authors) to anonymous peer evaluators selected by the Editorial Committee. Their comments are sent to the authors so that they can make the corresponding modifications. The Editorial Board makes the final decision to publish a particular article.
